Learn French Differently

She’s the best French teacher! I’m not the only one in our class who thinks so. Audrey is passionate and always creates a warm, motivating atmosphere. She helped me improve quickly because she understood exactly where I needed support. I’d love to take her course again!

I appreciated her cheerful and open attitude during our lessons, as well as our discussions on a wide range of topics. Thanks to her charm and kindness, even the grammar exercises became enjoyable.

French atelier we had on Wednesdays with Audrey was the highlight of my week! Each time there would be either a culinary workshop (from far breton to gougères and île flotante to ratatouille, all the recipes were fun to cook together and fun to eat together), or a museum excursion or a guided walk through town, a coffee session in a snug caffe or a fun game indoors to look forward to. There was both new vocabulary to learn and some grammar exercises to do but mostly it was my preferred way of learning - through full immersion, and in a small, friendly group of like-minded people having fun. Most importantly, Audrey's atelier gave me the courage to finally actually feel free to speak the language despite making mistakes!

Audrey's courses have been essential to starting my life in France, both academically and professionally. I'm Mexican and arrived in 2020 without speaking a word of French. It's thanks to her - with her excellent attitude and teaching method - that I've been able to learn in a way that seems simple, but which testifies to her many years of experience in teaching French. Simply the Best! Audrey is simply the best French teacher! She has been my teacher in individual and in group lessons for over two years and I could not imagine a better, smarter, and more fun way to learn French. Audrey makes each lesson interesting, playful, and fun, while also appropriately explaining important details and challenging me to practice my French speaking-skills. I always look forward to the lessons with Audrey. My French (which was at approximately A2 level when I started) has improved greatly since studying with her. For the group classes, Audrey creates different activities each week, from going on walks, visiting museums and cafés, to cooking classes, scavenger hunts and other games that are designed to be engaging and to make learning French easy and fun. It’s a learning-by-doing approach to French lessons. Indeed, coupling the language with experiences is truly memorable and greatly facilitates learning about the language and culture! As part of our group class, we went on yearly language immersion trips to Paris and, most recently, to Lyon. During these trips, Audrey taught us so much about French history and culture—all while speaking French at our level and improving our language skills! Through these trips, I also learned how to get around and “function” in daily life while in France (i.e., how to buy train or metro tickets, order at a café or restaurant, shop at different types of markets and stores etc.). Audrey designs a special, tailored program for each trip, typically involving a tour of unique and beautiful places (e.g., one trip was focused on Montmartre in Paris, another on the Marais). At each place, she picks fun spots and activities, and provides amazing cultural and historical insider knowledge—in French, at just the right level that corresponds to her students’ level. She also recommended hotels to stay at, made reservations at wonderful and authentic restaurants, and, overall, created experiences that we never could have had on our own. Audrey has created an excellent and well-rounded program of learning French for students at different levels. In addition, she is simply a wonderful human-being who it is a privilege to spend time with!
